News About The Netpreneur Program

1. 300 NEW STAR GAZERS
Yow! News about the Netpreneur Program must be getting out. Over 530 people have already signed up for An Evening with the Stars of Telecom to be be held on October 21 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, DC. After some quick math, we figure that more than 360 of them are new faces to Program events. If you are looking to meet new people that are encountering the same business questions, obstacles and triumphs as you, An Evening with the Stars is the place to be.

In case you haven't heard, An Evening with the Stars is the second in a series of Netpreneur Program CEO Forums, featuring five founders and co-founders who represent nearly every facet of the telecommunications industry. Morgan O'Brien of Nextel Communications, Inc., John Puente of Orion Network Systems, Brian Thompson of LCI International, David Thompson of Orbital Sciences and Mark Warner of Columbia Capital Corporation will talk about how they made it to the top.

Registration and a pre-reception for An Evening with the Stars begin at 5:30 PM. The program will begin at 7:00 PM. A crowd of more than 700 is expected, so sign up soon since space seems to be going fast. Admission is free and you must sign up at the Netpreneur Exchange Web site beforehand.

4. COFFEE&DOUGHNETS&BEER&PEANETS&TV&THEWEB&NBC NEWS?
We've been swamped by notes telling us yesterday's Coffee & DoughNets (oops, Beer & PeaNets) was the best ever. Why? Most netpreneurs agreed it was partly because of a new brainstorming experiment that was immensely productive. Lisa Amore and Jennifer Jaassma presented a marketing challenge that their company, TV onthe Web is facing. Then our team of 185 netpreneurs set their collective minds on possible solutions. It was so interactive, enjoyable and constructive that we'll be doing it again.

Other netpreneurs enjoyed the wealth of success stories shared by attendees and the fact that it was held in the evening this time (we'll do that again). All in all, the word must be getting out because this time we were even joined by a film crew from NBC Nightly News doing a story on the region! We don't know whether we'll see air time, but we'll keep you posted. The next Coffee & DoughNets comes just in time for Halloween on October 31, back to its regular morning time slot.. Sign up quick because this broom is flying.
