Phil
Carrai Phil Carrai is a managing director of the Morino Group and Special Advisor to General Atlantic Partners LLC, the world's leading private equity investment firm. He has over 20 years experience in enterprise software and service organizations, and has held executive management positions in both early-stage and public companies. Phil’s experience includes serving as CEO of McCabe and Associates, a $20M enterprise software company, and Vice President/General Manager with Legent Corporation, a leading systems management vendor acquired by Computer Associates for $1.8 billion in 1995. Phil currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Ztango and McCabe and Associates, and as a board member for Internosis and Network Alliance, and is an informal advisor to many emerging technology companies in the national capital region. Phil is a frequent speaker on the subjects of product management, sales, and marketing, and has taught on the subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He received his B.S. in
information science and economics at Indiana University of

Ernst & Young named Mr. Chasen and Matthew Pittinsky, chairman of Blackboard Inc., “Entrepreneurs of the Year for Emerging Companies in Washington, D.C.,” for their work at Blackboard. Most recently, the Kilby Awards Foundation honored Mr. Chasen and Mr. Pittinsky as “young innovators” for having recognized and delivered on the demand for a high-quality, easy-to-use, and cost-effective online educational software platform. With both a MBA from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mr. Chasen brings to Blackboard a solid mixture of business development and Internet engineering skills. He also has a strong background in educational consulting. Before founding Blackboard, he was a member of KPMG Consulting’s Higher Education practice, the world’s largest professional services firm serving colleges and universities. There, Mr. Chasen helped lead the technology consulting practice, working intimately with several universities and colleges to implement wide-ranging software systems. He also managed high-profile online development projects within the U.S. Department of Education.
