Ching-Ho Fung
Prior to joining Parature in 2000, Ching-Ho was the co-founder
of Performix Inc., a Virginia-based software company that was
acquired by Pure Software in 1995. Pure Software was later
acquired by Rational Software.
Currently, Ching-Ho also serves as Chairman of Monte Jade DC Science and Technology Association. Ching-Ho earned his master of business administration degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland.
Deepak Hathiramani, CEO,
Vistronix
Deepak Hathiramani
CEO and President Deepak Hathiramani is currently responsible
for corporate management and strategic planning for Vistronix, a
systems integration company whose mission is to "Transform Time
to Value" by redefining the rules in the new digital economy.
Mr. Hathiramani has over 13 years
of management and technical experience with privately and
venture funded high-tech start-ups. Prior to Vistronix,
Mr. Hathiramani worked at Nx Networks (previously known as
Netrix Corporation) as part of the technical development team.
Before joining Nx Network, Mr. Hathiramani worked with Cinnabar
Software, a high-tech start-up specializing in providing a broad
range of software test systems and related services to software
developers and value-added resellers.
Mr. Hathiramani received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude in
Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a
Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mathematics/Physics from the
University of Bombay, India. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, a trade
organization representing over 1100 technology companies in
Northern Virginia.
Managing Director,
Ventures Morino Group
Phil Carrai is a managing director of the Morino Group and Special Advisor to General Atlantic Partners LLC, the world's leading private equity investment firm. He has over 20 years experience in enterprise software and service organizations, and has held executive management positions in both early-stage and public companies. Phil’s experience includes serving as CEO of McCabe and Associates, a $20M enterprise software company, and Vice President/General Manager with Legent Corporation, a leading systems management vendor acquired by Computer Associates for $1.8 billion in 1995.
Phil currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Ztango and McCabe and Associates, and as a board member for Internosis and Network Alliance, and is an informal advisor to many emerging technology companies in the national capital region. Phil is a frequent speaker on the subjects of product management, sales, and marketing, and has taught on the subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He received his B.S. in
information science and economics at Indiana University of
Pennsylvania in 1983, and MBA from Carnegie Mellon University
in 1989.
Michael Chasen,
CEO, Blackboard
Michael Chasen, Blackboard’s chief executive officer, brings to the company and its customers an expertise in managing fast growth Internet software companies, and a passion for the Internet’s pedagogical potential for the education industry. Mr. Chasen is responsible for developing and implementing Blackboard’s vision and business strategy.
At Blackboard, Mr. Chasen’s work has expanded the company’s leadership in the platform market, providing the company a series of highly synergistic business lines that leverage its traditional Blackboard 5TM solution and Web site resources in a way that aid educational institutions, students, and faculty alike. Ernst & Young named Mr. Chasen and Matthew Pittinsky, chairman of Blackboard Inc., “Entrepreneurs of the Year for Emerging Companies in Washington, D.C.,” for their work at Blackboard. Most recently, the Kilby Awards Foundation honored Mr. Chasen and Mr. Pittinsky as “young innovators” for having recognized and delivered on the demand for a high-quality, easy-to-use, and cost-effective online educational software platform.
With both a MBA from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mr. Chasen brings to Blackboard a solid mixture of business development and Internet engineering skills. He also has a strong background in educational consulting. Before founding Blackboard, he was a member of KPMG Consulting’s Higher Education practice, the world’s largest professional services firm serving colleges and universities. There, Mr. Chasen helped lead the technology consulting practice, working intimately with several universities and colleges to implement wide-ranging software systems. He also managed high-profile online development projects within the U.S. Department of Education.
Recently named one of DC’s most-admired bosses by Washington Techway Magazine, and one of the area’s rising stars by Washington Business Forward, Mr. Chasen has been featured in print, broadcast, and online media, including CNNfn, Fox News, Sam Donaldson's ABC.com, Internet.com, EXBETV.com, the Associated Press, PC Magazine, WUSA-TV (CBS), Wired.com, Beyond Computers, Technology & Learning, and the Washington Post.
