Austin Ventures

Rob Adams joined Austin Ventures in 1999 when he founded the firms seed investing fund, AV Labs. He currently focuses on Software & Services in the area of enterprise software and new-company formation through the companys Accelerator program. While with Austin Ventures, he has been a founding investor in more than 25 companies, including Newgistics, Salion and Waveset. Rob joined Austin Ventures from TL Ventures. Prior to entering the private equity world, he was a technology executive for 18 years, beginning his career with Lotus. He went on to be founder and CEO of Business Matters, a venture-backed developer of financial modeling products. Subsequently, he was an executive at Pervasive Software, a company he helped take public in 1997. Rob has a BS in engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Babson College . He was an adjunct professor on the entrepreneurship faculty of the University of Texas at Austins McCombs School of Business. He is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on company formation, and the author of "A Good, Hard Kick in the Ass - Basic Training for Entrepreneurs" (Random House/Crown, 2002).
