Eric
Becker
|
Eric Becker is a Managing Partner and
co-founder of Sterling Venture Partners. Eric has 17 years
experience building, operating and investing in more than 30
companies. With an entrepreneurial background, he has served as
an investor, founder, CEO and director. Eric has provided
mentoring -- CEO coaching, structuring acquisitions, strategic
planning, board development -- and assistance to many Sterling
portfolio companies in dealing with rapid growth. In 1983, Eric
co-founded and served as a Managing General Partner of Sterling
Capital, Ltd.
He also served as Chairman of Tango Communications, a Sterling portfolio company, prior to its sale to a public company. Prior to founding Sterling, Mr. Becker was a co-founder and Senior Management Consultant for LifeCard International. He also worked in Chicago for the Levy Organization, a real estate and restaurant company, and Grant Partners, a private value-oriented investment fund. Mr. Becker attended University of Chicago. Eric is a director of a number of portfolio companies. He serves on the board of Maryland/Israel Development Center, Port Discovery Children's Museum, and the Garrison Forest School. He and his wife, Jill, have served as co-chairs of the Society for Excellence in Television for Maryland Public TV. Eric is the past chairman of the Washington-Baltimore Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Deepak
Hathiramani is the
founder, president & CEO of Vistronix, a consulting and
systems integration company focused on e-business and
technology solutions to the private and public sector. As president &
CEO, he is currently responsible for corporate management
and strategic planning for the company. Vistronix is ranked
as one of the fastest growing companies in the Washington DC
Metro area (as ranked by Washington Techway) and 52nd
fastest growing company in the nation, as ranked by Inc. Prior to
Vistronix, Mr. Hathiramani worked with high-tech start-ups
including Nx Networks (previously known as Netrix
Corporation), where he was part of the technical team
responsible for the design and development of the first
truly integrated wide-area network switch. Before joining Nx
Network, Mr. Hathiramani worked with Cinnabar Software, a
high-tech start-up specializing in providing a broad range
of software test systems and related services to software
developers and value-added resellers. As the lead engineer
at Cinnabar, Mr. Hathiramani was responsible for design and
development of the company's entire suite of products and
tools. Mr. Hathiramani
received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude in Computer Science
from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of
Science (Honors) in Mathematics/Physics from the University
of Bombay, India. Mr.
Hathiramani has also completed several ancillary management
courses including the Advanced Management Business Executive
Program and Management Business Executive Program from the
Amos Tuck School, Dartmouth College and a Diploma in
Business Management and Industrial Administration. Mr. Hathiramani is also a member of the “Inc. Eagles”, a
CEO Leadership Group program. Mr. Hathiramani currently serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Virginia Technology Alliance, George Mason University’s Information Technology & Engineering Advisory Board and Orane Technologies. He was recently honored by the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Chapter of the Association of Indians in America – (AIA) as the AIA 2001 “Entrepreneur of the Year”.

Rob Masri is responsible

information technology and life sciences companies. His diverse range of
business and legal expertise includes venture capital
financing, public and private offerings, and mergers and
acquisitions. His representation of high-technology and emerging growth
companies spanned industry sectors ranging from software and
telecommunications to the Internet and e-commerce. He earned a
B.A. in History, with distinction, from the University of
Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School
of Law.

Patrick Arnone
is the President of Arnone & Associates, Inc., a
retained Senior Level Executive Search firm focused
exclusively in the Technology industry. Arnone &
Associates, Inc. serves its clients by focusing search engagements at
only senior executive levels for small to large companies
and national in scope.
Prior to the formation of his firm,
Mr. Arnone enjoyed a successful 32 year career in the
Information Technology industry. He is a senior
executive with diverse management experience in Information
Technology companies ranging from startups and emerging
growth organizations to large established IT companies. During Mr. Arnone’s career, he led
and managed sales, marketing, consulting services, technical
support, finance and operational divisions within different
Information Technology companies, managing up to 375
employees. Mr.
Arnone had particular success in creating new business
opportunities and turning around failing operations. As a Vice President,
Mr. Arnone established and led a highly successful Oracle
Corporation Division, where, over a four year period, the
Division grew from 12 to 350 employees and from 2 million to
90 million in revenue.
As the General Manager and Vice President, Mr. Arnone
developed the strategy and led the execution for the
turnaround of the Sybase Public Sector Group, taking the
business from 18 million to 85 million in 3 years. He also
served in executive positions with PRC, QStar Technology,
Distribusoft and held various roles with IBM, Boeing
Computer Services and Storage Technology Corporation. Mr. Arnone has a reputation as a
highly motivated and energetic leader with exceptional
strategic planning and organizational skills, business
knowledge and P&L expertise. During a one year
sabbatical in ‘93, he volunteered his time and services to
the Morino Institute, a non-profit entity where he assisted
in the discovery and definition of the organization in order
to understand how electronic communications could serve
those in middle- to low-income families from an educational,
community and social services standpoint. The Institute also
developed the Netpreneur Program that is nationally
recognized as an incubator for Internet companies based in
the Washington, D.C. region.
