Seeking Partner

DESCRIPTION
I am launching a startup that will provide Internet
services to a niche market that is not exploited by any
current players. I have completed the software back-end to
run the site, executed contracts with a number of
outsourcers to handle the client work as it develops (and
with a high scalability factor), and am about to start a
marketing push into a database of over 20,000 target
prospects.
The business model
generates a minimum of $2,000 in profit per completed
contract, and an estimated average of $6-10,000 in profit
per completed contract. My initial goal for 2002 is to
conclude the year handling 8 contracts per month. At
maturity, the size of the market indicates that the
company might handle hundreds of contracts per month. The
business will naturally develop word-of-mouth and repeat
business among both the direct clients and their
end-users; in addition, there are numerous subsidiary
revenue streams that can be developed.
I am an Internet developer
and serial entrepreneur, but I am looking for a partner to
work with on this project; I'm heading up another project
with a good partner, and I'm finding my productivity is
higher with someone else in collaboration. The ideal
candidate will be: 1) experienced in entrepreneurial
startups; 2) have a better background than I do with
finance/legal/accounting (mine is entirely self-taught);
3) will be willing and able to weather a few months of
zero or low profits. Experience in the association or
events industry a plus.

DESCRIPTION
Do you have a funded product or service project that needs
strong leadership in its early lifecycle phases? Do you
have a software project that is not doing too well, and
needs a strong leader to put it back on track?
I have 20 years of
experience in the industry, and have spent the last 11
years as a combination of technologist, lead executive
manager, entrepreneur and consultant. Over the past two
years I have served as interim or acting executive for
several early and mid stage businesses, in engagements
that ranged from 3 to 13 months, and taking roles such as
Chief Products Officer, CTO, VP Engineering. Previously, I
served as VP Engineering and CTO for two mid-size
software-based firms, creating and growing development
teams to over 40 reports and with budgets up to $7M.
I have brought several
products and services to the market. I bring a unique
ability to bridge business and technology. I cover the
entire product or service lifecycle, with a particular
emphasis on the early (definition) and late (deployment)
phases. I have served several verticals, including
financial services, environmental & safety,
pharmaceutical, health, manufacturing, and software.
Please contact me to
discuss your current needs, and how I can help.
